Lakeside’s new $15.2 million fire station and administrative center was formally unveiled Friday by County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, County planning and Lakeside Fire Protection District officials, firefighters, friends and families.

The 24,000 square-foot station replaces the fire district’s smaller, older Station #2 in Eucalyptus Hills. All of the fire district’s current administrative services will be housed in the new station, as well as a fire engine, brush rig, ambulance, classroom and emergency operations center.
