The County of San Diego Registrar of Voters received a bomb threat early Friday evening at its office in Kearny Mesa. Sheriff’s deputies conducted an investigation. They determined the threat was not credible, and those who were in the building were safe.

Offered through the school’s Career Technical Education Program, the new Fire Technology courses combine classroom instruction with hands-on training to prepare students to respond to structure fires and wildfires.

The California Wildfire Mitigation Program is a pilot program with a goal of increasing community resilience in San Diego during a wildfire.

Just in time for the holidays, a touching story as Just in time for the holidays, a touching story as 36 San Diego County children finalize their adoptions at the annual San Diego County Child and Family Well-Being Department Adoption Day party.

In the past year, the department reduced the number of children in foster care by nearly 12 percent. For children placed into foster care, 44 percent found a home with relatives, a 10 percent increase over the previous year.

The San Diego County Public Defender’s Office coll The San Diego County Public Defender’s Office collaborated with the San Diego Public Library to name and recognize the 25 Most Remarkable Teens from around San Diego County at a special ceremony earlier this week.

The program recognizes youth ages 13 to 19 for their accomplishments. The 25 teens were selected from 98 nominated by the community.

NEW ARCHWAY IN RAMONA 🆕 Firefighters from Battalio NEW ARCHWAY IN RAMONA 🆕 Firefighters from Battalion 8 Ramona were honored to join members of the community last week for a special celebration. On Halloween night, after a dramatic countdown, colorful lights illuminated Ramona’s new archway and the structure’s centerpiece was revealed — “Est. 1883 Ramona.”

The archway, crossing over 10th Street, was designed to capture Ramona’s spirit and charm and was unveiled in a festive ceremony attended by local officials and residents. After 11 years in the making, many hard working and dedicated individuals who contributed saw their efforts, resulting in a beautifully successful outcome.

CAL FIRE/San Diego County recognizes the commitment and meticulous effort involved in creating and bringing about this distinctive archway for the Ramona community. Our department is honored to protect and proudly serve such a beautiful and unique area of San Diego County!
